The VIB laboratory of Myeloid Cell Immunology is searching for a post-doctoral scientist to unravel the involvement of dendritic cells (DCs) in anti-cancer immunotherapies. This project is in collaboration with an industrial partner and will use cutting edge technologies, including single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and multi-parametric flow cytometry.
The Myeloid Cell Immunology Laboratory (http://www.vib.be/en/research/scientists/Pages/Jo-Van-Ginderachter-Lab.aspx) is part of the VIB Inflammation Research Center (IRC) and is located at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, in the heart of Europe. Access is available to core facilities offering state-of-the-art technologies, including transcriptomics, light and electron microscopy, flow cytometry, and antibody-engineering. At our Brussels campus, you will join a growing team of researchers who focus on elucidating the functions of immune cells (myeloid cells and regulatory T cells) in various preclinical models of cancer. Importantly, mouse data is validated in patient samples through several clinical collaborations.
The position is supported by an initial 2-year grant (prolongation possible), which will allow you to develop highly valued skills in an exciting scientific field. Competitive remuneration will be offered.
The postdoctoral position can start from the 1st of February 2021.
- You have a Ph.D. in biology, bio-engineering sciences, medical sciences, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines.
- You are highly experienced in immunology, preferably myeloid cell biology and flow cytometry.
- You have experience working with mouse models.
- Experience in oncology is a plus.
- Experience with transcriptome analysis (RNAseq) is a plus.
- You are a creative and passionate scientist.
